Random or Synchronicity
What he was talking about are those things that seem to happen as if part of a divine plan. Things that point you in a particular direction that confirm you're on the right track. The book that falls off the shelf and opens to a page with a message that you needed in that moment, an overheard conversation that has the same key message, running into or getting a call from the person you've been thinking about... I could go on but you get the drift!
Like most people I've always experienced these random coincidences but didn't take them seriously or as anything but random until 30 years ago I stepped onto my spiritual path. Since then I've developed a strong love of symbolism including tarot and oracle cards which ties in nicely with synchronicity.
Which brings me to the question I'm often asked "How do tarot/oracle cards work?".
I guess the simplistic answer would be they contain symbolism in the form of words and images that can be used to trigger an intuitive response. I have often used the symbols on single card pulls as a trigger for writing and I'm still in awe of the times the message the card offers is spot on in the moment. The same goes for reading for others. I am truly amazed at what cards will come out and the response from the querent confirming this was exactly what they needed to hear, even complete strangers.
I've often heard it said that tarot cards are evil or bad and shouldn't be dabbled with and to be honest I remember feeling a naive fear of them until I learnt more about them and their symbolism. Tarot cards are 78 pieces of illustrated card and have no actual power in themselves other than the power we give them and are meant to be looked at as a guide or tool in finding our own solutions and answers to our questions. Despite what some may think cards do not have a supernatural hold over us and their messages and images are not meant to be taken literally or as the final word. Far from being fortune telling, card reading can give us glimpses into what may be.
As human beings we have been blessed with free will and as such our futures are not set in stone. We can change course and with that the outcome at any time by making different choices. As I've said I've been a strong observer and student of symbolism for most of my adult life and I see cards in their many forms as one way we can work with symbols and their messages. The answers given by a card can vary depending on each person's unique interpretation. The same card can often have very different meanings depending on a person's life experience.
Life is an amazing, wonderful, incredible mystery and meant to be lived as a story unfolding. Yes, we are living in very challenging times but I feel it's more important than ever to live your life in wonder as an observer of the world around you, from the tiniest insect to the infinity of space, and take stock of what's truly important. Watch and listen, let the messages guide you.
